1. Using World Book Online Kids, search for information on a
mammal of your choice. Find a picture and information about its habitat.
Today, mountain lions are most common in Mexico, Central America, and South America. Some also live in Canada and the United States, especially in the western parts of these countries. Other names for the mountain lion are cougar, catamount, panther, and puma.
2. Using World Book Online Info Finder, search for information
on the same mammal you searched in World Book Kids and compare the amount of
information.
Info Finder goes more in depth about the animal including a sound blurb where someone can hear the sound a selected animal makes.
3. Using World Book Online Reference Center, search for a
country. Notice the types of information available on the left and right side
bars of the first results screen. Click on the link for your desired country,
and again notice the types of information on the left and right side bars of the
screen. What types of information will be most valuable to your patrons?
There is so much information available here I'm not sure where to being I guess it would have to depend on what the patron is working on. Government, People, Ways of Life, this online resource really breaks the information up in an easy to use resource.
I will definitely be using this information in the future not only to help the library patrons but also my own children.

Thanks for your comments, Rebecca. What country did you look up? Did you notice that country entries usually include sound for national anthem & folksongs? We think the links out to more resources is very valuable, too. Have fun showing this resource to patrons & family!
